Biopic

Lingzhong Guo received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Bristol Robotics Laboratory, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Science, The University of the West of England, Bristol, in 2003. In 2002 as a research associate, he joined the Signal Processing and Complex Systems Research Group at the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, The University of Sheffield, to work on the EPSRC grant of Identification and Analysis of Spatio-temporal Systems. Prior to this, he received the BSc. degree in mathematics and M.Sc. degree in applied mathematics from Bohai University, Jinzhou, China, and Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 1986 and 1991, respectively. From 1986 to 1999, he had been working in Bohai University, Northeastern University in China and The Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO), South Korea as an assistant, lecturer and researcher, respectively.

Research Interests

Modelling and identification of nonlinear systems, identification and analysis of spatio-temporal systems, wavelets, identification of PDEs, state space reconstruction, lattice dynamical systems, control of nonlinear systems, neural networks, discrete event systems.
