Profile

Rowan obtained his undergraduate degree, in Economics and Econometrics, from the University of Kent. He then completed an MSc in Economics at the University of Sussex, followed by a PhD at the University of Kent. While completing his PhD he was also a lecturer in Econometrics at the University of Kent.

He was appointed to his current position as a Research Associate in Econometrics at the University of Sheffield in May 2023.
 

Research interests

Rowan’ main research interests are in theoretical and applied econometrics. He also has applied research in health economics, environmental economics, and regional economics.

Rowan currently has several research projects (1) estimation and inference of exogenous and endogenous causal classical linear regression parameters for cross-sectionally dependent data using machine learning, (2) reconstruction of latent network/spatial processes, (3) estimation of the environmental Kuznets curve, (4) estimation the causal effects of personality traits on lifestyle, and (5) evaluating the hospital quit smoking services across Yorkshire.
