Your School

Sheffield University Management School is one of the University’s largest departments. Part of a leading, research university, we are a Triple Crown accredited School; one of a global elite comprising less than one per cent of business schools worldwide. These awards are an external endorsement that the management education we provide is exceptional in terms of the quality of learning and teaching, our global relationships with businesses, organisations and alumni, and our careers provision. Our mission is to promote socially responsible work practices and have a positive impact on organisations and society throughout the world.

Producing world-leading and practice/policy relevant research, we have extensive links with a range of external bodies/partners, including governments, NGOs, businesses, and public and private sector organisations. As a postgraduate student, you will be an integral part of the School’s vibrant academic and business culture, actively contributing to debates and discussions regarding the key management questions contemporary societies face. The School has state-of-the-art facilities, including four lecture theatres and seven seminar rooms. The building is also home to our Student Experience Office which provides dedicated academic and pastoral support, and our pioneering Employability Hub.

Being part of such a diverse community provides exceptional opportunities to experience other cultures and to work in multi-cultural teams; attributes that will make you highly sought after in the job market, where such cultural agility is increasingly valued.

We'll also build your awareness of global issues, utilising Sheffield University Management School’s international contacts in business, academia and governments across the world. A lively guest lecture programme runs alongside a number of the courses, so our postgraduates get information from individuals at the top of their game – many of which are held in our Harvard-style executive lecture theatre. Our Masters programmes allow you to specialise, but also gain a critical understanding of ‘the bigger picture’, complementing and building on your previous study at undergraduate level. You will develop the skills to operate on an international stage and secure an exciting, successful professional future.

We are committed to ensuring programme quality and monitor this through regular student feedback as well as staff-student committees both at School and Faculty level; students are key partners in our community and we actively seek their input in our continual and ongoing enhancement activity.
