A spokesperson for the University of Sheffield, said:
“A small number of people have pitched tents in front of our Students’ Union building. We support the right of our students to express their views peacefully and within the law and planned campus activities have continued as normal.
“We have asked all students and staff to be mindful of the experiences and positions of others. We have also shared behavioural expectations around protests and made it clear that the University will not tolerate any incidents of racism, antisemitism or Islamophobia.”
