Professor Fraser McLeay appointed Dean of Sheffield University Management School

The University of Sheffield is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Fraser McLeay as the Dean of Sheffield University Management School with immediate effect.

Since joining the University of Sheffield in 2018, Professor Fraser McLeay has held a number key positions within the Triple Crown accredited Management School including Associate Dean of Education, Head of Marketing and Creative and Cultural Industries and Head of the Marketing, International Enterprise and Strategy division. He brings a wealth of experience from the many leadership roles held prior to joining the University of Sheffield at Newcastle Business School, including Associate Pro Vice Chancellor of Strategic Planning and Engagement and Associate Dean of Business and Engagement at the Faculty of Business and Law as well as academic positions at universities worldwide.

As a globally recognised marketing academic, Professor McLeay’s interdisciplinary research interests specialise in the areas of sustainable consumption, digital marketing, branding, innovation, inclusion and co-creativity. His current projects are focussed on the barriers and enablers to the adoption of innovative new products such as driverless cars and robots in service environments including long term care. Professor McLeay has gained external funding from research councils such as the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council and won many awards for his research and contributions to practice.

Outside of academia, Professor McLeay has over ten years of practitioner experience, holding senior management and leadership positions globally. While working in industry, he has assisted over 250 businesses in more than 60 countries to implement successful start-up, commercialisation, business expansion, marketing, branding, strategic planning and new product/service introduction strategies in industry sectors that vary from education to renewable energy, engineering, agri-food and graphene.
