The NAG Library at Sheffield University

Sheffield University owns site licenses for the Linux/Unix 64bit/32bit implementations of the NAG Numerical Library for all languages. NAG is probably the most comprehensive Numerical Algorithms Library in the world.

Documentation

Full NAG Library documents can be accessed from www.nag.co.uk/support_documentation.asp .  We also have locally produced documentation on accessing NAG on iceberg and also related NAG Manuals via the Right Hand Side link.

Access

NAG Fortran and C Libraries are available on iceberg. When on iceberg, type news to find out the latest information regarding software and libraries.  Alternatively, staff, research students and research workers can download this library directly from NAG website and install it on their own Linux/Unix workstations.

The installation process is well documented for each implementation and requires license keys. These license keys are provided in the Sheffield University Secure NAG pages via the RHS link on this page.

Two important files i.e. installers_notes and users_notes are provided with each implementation at the NAG download areas that guide you on how to install the library including the licensing issues. Following links point to the download areas for the implementations of NAG that are useful in Sheffield University in the light of the compiler licenses we currently hold.  A list of all implementations can be viewed at www.nag.co.uk/downloads/index.asp . Please note that only the Linux implementations are available free of charge at Sheffield University.
