REGISTRATION

Access to the local HPC facilities ( iceberg ) and the non-local HPC facilities ( WR-GRID & NGS ) require registration as outlined below:

All staff and research students can register to use the Research Computer iceberg .

REGISTER FOR THE WHITE ROSE GRID

Iceberg users, wishing to take advantage of the HPC facilities at Leeds and York, will also need to obtain a White Rose Grid account.

REGISTER FOR THE NATIONAL GRID SERVICE



You do not need to have an iceberg account before applying to use the National Grid Service but you will need an e-science certificate.
An e-certificate is also useful for operating gsi-ssh enabled secure-shell sessions between various unix/linux hosts.

If you are not based at Sheffield University

Users from other White Rose Grid sites 'i.e. Leeds University and York University' can also register to use iceberg by obtaining a White Rose Grid Account as referenced above.
