Software License Reservations
Some of the above listed software licenses are issued for a limited number of simultaneous usage.
Events, such as class-room teaching of software can grab all the licenses to the detriment of other users.
Or alternatively any heavy usage of such software that clashes with classroom teaching may render such teaching sessions impossible due to lack of available licenses.
Any expected heavy usage of those software listed below should be reported to us by emailing iceberg-admins@lists.shef.ac.uk so as to allow the reservation of licenses 'if possible' and also to warn other users about the scarcity of licenses during such periods by means of the calender below.
- Fluent
- Gambit
- Ansys
- Matlab
- Abaqus
Accessing Floating Software Licenses off Campus.
If you have a software item installed on your laptop that requires floating-licenses "such as Matlab&Fluent" and you wish to be able to use this software while away from the campus. You may do so by using the VPN client and your remote-access (RATS) password to connect to the campus network.
