Iceberg  HPC Cluster

iceberg is the name of the Linux based High Performance Computing Cluster at Sheffield University.

Its mission is to meet the intensive computing requirements of research projects at Sheffield University and provide 'cloud computing' capabilities within the campus.

Latest upgrades to the iceberg cluster have seen the introduction of 76 more 'Intel-based' nodes along with faster connections between the nodes for parallel programming and GPU modules for cutting-edge GPU acceleration of computations as well as a much faster filestore  that can improve performance and provide very large temporary storage area.
Our Systems Administrator  Anthony Brookfield have documented the upgrade work on his blogs which gives an insight into the iceberg cluster components.
