We are a forward thinking Practice with an excellent support team, which consists, 2 Practice Managers,2 Practice Nurses, 2 Phlebotomists, 2 Secretaries and a committed Reception Team. We encourage an atmosphere of inclusion and a feeling that everyone has a stake in the practice. We have recently merged with Lowedges Surgery and all staff members work across both sites.

All the Partners enjoy being Generalists, although 2 of the Partners have higher qualifications in medicine, 1 partner is experienced in General Surgery and another is interested in Acupuncture.

An enormous amount of work has been done over the last 5 years to bring the practice up to date with technology, develop patient services and invest in staff training. Medical records have been summarised and coded, scanning was introduced, computers were continually updated and other equipment purchased to allow the practice to perform efficiently and effectively. Chronic disease management clinics have also been developed and enhanced services undertaken for example; Anti Coagulation, DMARD monitoring, ring pessaries and Minor surgery. We are a highly motivated practice, and have achieved maximum QOF points year on year since 2006. Our new innovations include our Practice Website (see link below), Internet Appointment booking and online Prescription requests.

The building of the Old School Medical Centre was originally the site of Greenhill Infant School. There are historical reminders of the history of the school set in stone plaques on the outer walls; the premises were converted around 1995.

We also have a very active patient participation group `Friends of the The Meadowhead Group Practice´ who meet each month and do regular fund raising, they have recently purchased a 24 hr BP monitor, Spirometer, Oximeter, Patient Automated Check In and Defibrilator.

We work incredibly hard to provide excellent medical care for our patients. We hold regular training events every month, which all staff attend. We are looking forward to expanding our educational and training status as we strive to develop a learning organisation culture by: continuing to encourage our staff to develop their potential and learn new roles; participating in the training of our pharmacist to become a supplementary and independent prescriber: engaging in the training of medical students: commencing training of GP registrars: and maintaining our own continuing professional development.

Despite all this hard work we enjoy socialising as a practice, we regularly go out for meals.
