Practice
The surgery is housed in a large Victorian villa in leafy Nether Edge, in southwest Sheffield.
The practice looks after 6500 patients, who are mainly middle class; this is a stimulating and interesting patient population.
The Hollies has 4 partners. It has been an F2 training practice since 2005, and became a training practice in August 2008. At any one time they have one registrar and one F2 doctor.
The GP trainer is Dr Simon O´Connor, who joined the practice in 1992. He has a special interest in palliative medicine having worked at St Lukes Hospice, latterly as Medical Director until 2005.
The Hollies is a friendly and enthusiastic practice, which aims to practice medicine at a high standard. All the doctors enjoy being involved in GP training and are supported by an excellent team of practice and district nurses,
The practice is well run by the practice manager and his team of secretaries and receptionists. The practice is paperless and uses the System 1 computer system.
