Diploma of The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Theory Course(DFSRH)

The format of the DFSRH (Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare) changed in January 2010 and is now online.

To complete the new DFSRH training you need to register with the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare via the link below:

www.fsrh.org/pages/Diploma_of_the_FSRH.asp

The DFSRH training package consists of:

  1. e-SRH (electronic learning package) (£50 charge)
  2. Course of 5 sessions (a charge will be made for each session)
  3. Clinical experience

This is a blended learning package, underpinned by an e-portfolio which will be used as a record of progress and as a learning tool in its own right.

The electronic learning package is estimated to take about 20-30 hours. The sessions are interactive, with animations, video clips and self assessment questions. There are links to current guidelines and other resources.

Following successful completion of the e-SRH, trainees will move on to the Course of 5 sessions.

Trainees will be encouraged to commence the diploma at a suitable point in their medical training, and will be expected to be able to perform basic procedures such as pelvic examination and giving intramuscular injections before they proceed to clinical assessments.

Before registering for the DFSRH you will need to submit a study leave application to the GPSTP office. Your trainer and ES must agree that you meet the criteria to undertake the package. Once approval has been given you can then apply for registration and the office will arrange for you to be reimbursed for the administration fee.

Please make sure that you let the office know when you are attending any training sessions as these sessions incur a fee and we need to make sure that funds are released from the Deanery budget to reimburse you.
