About

Who are you?
I'm Angharad John, I'm 21 and studying for an MA in Philosophy. I am your Philosophy Councillor for the 2011 Academic year.

Why do we need a Councillor?
I'm here to represent you as a Philosophy student. If there is a problem in the department you can come talk to me and I'll do my best to provide a solution.

I have an idea on how the department should be improved...
That's awesome, come and talk to me about it!

There's not enough books/parties/dualism/free computers in the department!
I will bring this up in the next meeting.

I am protesting for a cause, can you help?
Depending whether it is relevant to the Philosophy department, yes!

Help! I'm having an existentialist crisis!
No worries! You can contact me on my mobile or email (listed below) or you can even pop over for some tea. If I can't help, I can put you in contact with someone who can.

I'm having a problem with my course/tutor?
Please come have a chat with me, don't sit in silence.

Latest Updates

  • Great news, the department has some extra funds for some new books for the library. The link below will allow you to request books you feel should be added; it could be a book that we don't currently have in stock or a book that you think there should be an extra copy. If the book is recommended reading for a module, could you please note this when filling in the form: http://www.shef.ac.uk/library/cdfiles/ebookrequest
