I WANT CHANGE!

Our Policies

The policies of the Students' Union are a statement of the beliefs of the organisation on key issues.

They can be a statement of the Students' Union's position, or a commitment to doing things in a certain way or campaign on a particular issue.

Our policies are made democratically and they are binding on the Students' Union. Policies must go through either a referendum of Students' Union Council and require a significant consultation with students. Click 'Proposals for New or Amended Policy' to see that latest ideas that have been put forward.

If you have an idea for a new policy or feel that we should amend one of our existing policies you should contact elections@shef.ac.uk to find out the process.

Policies last for 3 years, after this time they are reviewed by the Students' Union Officers and Students' Union Council.

The policies due for review in the 2011/12 academic year are:

  • Nestle
  • Education Funding
  • Environmental
