I've just finished studying Human Geography and over my three years as a student I've been really involved supporting and representing students in the Students' Union. I have been a member of the LGBT committee and I also worked as a student consultant for mental health issues. This year I will be working with the Students' Union and University staff to help ensure that students have the best support possible during their time here at Sheffield.
Working to ensure that students understand the range of support services that are available to them and that students are able to access these services. The priority will on mental health/psychological wellbeing services.
Working to ensure that students can safely enjoy the city of Sheffield, regardless of their student status, and gain recognition as local residents. There will be a particular emphasis on community relations, students’ safety on nights out and their ability to buy affordable food.
Working to ensure that advice and guidance regarding housing and employability development is student led and proactively promoted to students. Campaigns and projects will focus on allowing students to share their experiences to allow other students to gain from this insight.
