The student officers are eight students, elected by the whole student population, who work full time at the Students' Union for a year.

Responsible for all educational matters affecting students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. Co-ordinates and supports student representation within the University, and works with the Education Committee to keep students informed of, and campaign on, academic issues.
Sits on many University committees including University Senate and Learning & Teaching Committee.
To Strengthen the role of academic representation and campaigning within the Students' Union and the capacity of representatives (both elected and non-elected) to shape the decision making process.

To put students at the centre of learning and teaching, embedding the idea of students as co-creators of education and partners in the learning process is key to counter the notion of students as consumers. Students working with lecturers, promoting best practice and driving quality is vital in rebalancing the pedagogical relationship associated with the consumerist narrative.

To work with the University to develop a clear strategy towards the use of technology in learning and teaching, promoting best practice where it exists and enhancing students' access to digital technology in their academic programmes.

To continue the campaign against the damaging changes to the HE sector proposed by the government with specific focus on working with the university to make sure issues such as postgraduate fee levels, widening participation programmes and student support and bursary packages best serve the needs of students.
