I WANT CHANGE!

Students' Union Council and CDC Elections

Voting Has Now Closed

This year's Students' Union Council & Community Development Committee Elections have now closed.

Thanks to all the students who voted in the Students' Union Council and Community Development Committee Elections this year. 4,658 of you voted beating our previous record from last year by more than 900. That's three times more than voted when we first began council elections in 2007.

3,021 students voted in favour of the constitutional changes, which are therefore passed. (130 voted against and 471 abstained.) These change some of the officer roles (in particular replacing the Finance Officer with a Union Development Officer), although these changes will not take effect until the new Officers are elected. It also makes some changes to our aims and objectives and other parts of our constitution to assist our registration as charity.

2,932 students voted in the priority campaign ballot, with Protect our Education getting the most support.

1,212 students voted in the CDC elections, an enormous increase on previous years.

The largest departmental turnout was Medicine where 343 students voted and the highest representative turnout was for the Women's Councillor (1,943 students).

Thanks again to everyone for making the elections such a success. For the full results see below and see the results night photo gallery here.
