Who are the Student Officers?

The student officers are eight students, elected by the whole student population, who work full time at the Students' Union for a year.

I WANT CHANGE!

Course Reps

Course Reps are students elected or selected in their department to represent the views of other students on their course.

If there are things that students want to see improved in their department, Course Reps communicate their views to departmental staff, so they can make the changes that students want.

Being a Course Rep is a fantastic opportunity to represent other students and play a key role in improving your course and your department.

At the beginning of semester 1, all students will have the opportunity to become a Course Representative. In many departments, small elections are held so that students can vote for who represents them. In others it's as easy as being a willing volunteer. Members of academic staff and support staff will always be on hand to help you out. Don't be afraid to ask for advice!

The Students' Union is also always available to support you and will help and advise you about any aspect of your role. We will be running training sessions which will guide you through how student representation works at Sheffield and what part you can play as a rep.
