Who are the Student Officers?
The student officers are eight students, elected by the whole student population, who work full time at the Students' Union for a year.
Problems with Student Finance England
As part of National student money week held on Monday 11th - Friday 15th February 2013, Sheffield Students' Union launched a campaign against the problems with Student Finance England (SFE). Many students have concerns about the way in which SFE process their applications for student funding and we want to encourage you to raise this with your MP. To do this, we've provided a letter which will be emailed to both your MP and SFE outlining the major concerns which students have with this organisation. We'd like to encourage you to use this form to contact both your MP here in Sheffield and also your MP at home to make sure that the message that SFE are not working in the best interests of students is spread to all the MPs who represent you.
Under Parliamentary rules MPs have to reply letters they receive from constituents, and their staff carefully monitor the number of letters they receive on each issue.
This is why every letter counts and we want to make sure that the problems at SFE are finally addressed.
