Most of the Students' Union building will stay open while the work is done, however, some services and facilities will have to move at some point. University admin departments, Students' Union staff and officers and the University's catering services will be affected.

| Club Nights | The majority of the much loved weekly club night events including ROAR, Population & Pop Tarts are sharing their home with Space, which already takes play inside the University of Sheffield Students' Union venue, the Octagon Centre. This is a temporary move whilst the Students' Union Foundry & Fusion venue undergoes extensive refurbishment over the next academic year. The Tuesday Club and Climax have also temporarily moved venues whilst the refurbishment is underway. After 14 years The Tuesday Club nationally known as a specialist music night centered around credible, underground electronic and live music will be hosting many of its weekly club events at the Leadmill. |
| Students' Union Shop | Students' Union Shop has relocated to the Arts Tower car park and reopened in it's new location on Monday 10th September. |
| Bar One | Bar One is to temporarily close on Saturday 15 December, through to re-opening on Wednesday 13 February, as essential work on the Students' Union site continues. |
| Food | The International Food Court, New Leaf and City View Cafe are closed during the work. These spaces are all being improved. In the meantime there are lots of other places to eat on campus. |
| The Job Shop | Moved to 285 Glossop Road on 20 July 2012. |
| Student Advice Centre | Moved to 285 Glossop Road on 5th & 6th July 2012. Opened for business 9th July 2012. |
| SSID | SSID are maintaining a front line service in the Students' Union, based in Gallery Room 4. |
| Registry Services, Finance - Income and Cash Office, Examinations Office, Student Administration, Taught Programmes Office, Student Support and Guidance (including Immigration Services, Financial Support, Student Development and Critical Support) | All these departments have moved to Edgar Allan House, Glossop Road. It's just across the road from the University Health Service. |
| Property withUS | Permanently relocated to level 3 in the Students' Union. |
| Bookable Spaces for Societies | These spaces will be affected by the building work. Alternative spaces are available elsewhere on campus. |
