Hi, I'm new to forum and the college. Foundation in Science and Engineering if that's important.
I decided to write about my experience in the first week here, induction week, in a log like manner:
Month ago: First visited England, got my flat, did "reconaissance" around town. Took them ages to check my application. But eventually I got my visa letter just on time.
2 Weeks ago: With a fresh new visa, arrived here. Started buying stuff and carrying it to the flat. Sometimes a little embarrasing to try and carry a whole travelling bag worth of buys and having it fall on someone

This week: Practiced cooking for myself, went to all morning/afternoon college events. Though usually came into the wrong building just 10 min before everything would start.
Met a nice Chinese girl. She gave me her MSN which turned out wrong so now I can't contact her. Worst of all I couldn't tell her from other pretty Chinese girls D: oh and I better not name her cause girls really don't like when you mix them up

This Saturday (which prabably already passed by the time you've read this) I'm going to the free trip to peak district. For some reason they've put me on a waiting list when I came to register, as if they don't have enough room to take everyone or something

This England is a funny place. About as cold as my birthplace in Siberia, though people are kinder and traffic is much much safer. In my city, even police wouldn't dare to cross the road when there are any cars in the visibility

Certain things are little weird, like door springs inside appartments. But I get used to it.
I'm going to try some fun stuff in the future, notably Archery. And find out about laws behind carrying and using real sharp swords and doing medieval roleplay.
While taking a train from Sheffield to some other city on the far north I noted a plenty of green meadows. Like seas of open, unused space. I'd really love to drive around there, or at least walk, but something's telling me it could all be private land. No?
Lastly, I noted a slight lack of ambition from fellow students. Feels like they're taking this as just something necessary for a job, a boring but necessary thing. Well since they got here apparently they're hardworking enough to make up for it, but come on! Where is the scale? We are the next generation of fresh minds, we're supposed to make a scientific revolution or something like that.
And even if by the time I'm professor or a high ranked specialist I wouldn't have a robot friend who I can discuss scientific things with, I'd eat my shoes if I can't make at least a lightning generator and power armor. Oh and that little flying thing that breathes fire and acts as a spy cam

So anyway, where was I? Right, so that's my overall impression of first week in the SIC.
Do kindly post here how it is with you, and maybe comment my story and ask me questions, I'll feel famous

Side note: No one really posts here anyway.
