Student Representation is really important at Sheffield University, here at the Students’ Union we work hard to make sure that you’re well supported and represented across the University.

Eight students are voted in each year to oversee the running of the Students' Union fulltime.
In each department a Councillor is elected to represent the students in their department at Students' Union Council.
Course Reps are students who volunteer to represent the academic needs of students within their department.
Faculty Reps are Course Reps who volunteer to represent the views of students in their faculty to the University.
Union Links are students paid by the Union to create a link between the Union and their department. Union Links work closely with Course Reps and Councillors in their department to ensure that academic issues, welfare issues and concerns highlighted by students are brought to the attention of the Union.
Community reps speak on behalf of all students in their residence and provide effective communication links between students and ACS.
The National Union of Students represents the interests of around five million students, including those who are members of the University of Sheffield Union of Students.
