The Media Hub is an innovative, collaborative space for producers of all types of media and is the first of its kind in the country. Students can use it for their enjoyment and development, and to gain the skills that are required for a career in an increasingly integrated media industry.
The Media Hub is also home to Forge Media (the Union's student media) including Forge Radio, Forge Press, Forgetoday.com and Forge TV.
Its open plan space includes two radio studios and 19 workstations equipped with print and web design software, as well as audio and video editing facilities:
- Four Apple iMacs installed with Final Cut Pro and iMovie
- Two PCs installed with Adobe Audition
- Ten PCs installed with Adobe CS3 Design Standard (including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
- Two PCs installed with Adobe CS3 Design Premium (including Dreamweaver and Flash)
- A production studio equipped with Adobe Audition and Myriad playout software
