University of Sheffield Nursery
The University Nursery

The Nursery is a joint venture into which both the Union and the University invest. It is a non profit making organisation and seeks to help with funding for some areas of students who are unable to get childcare grants, with places also being available for other parents on a commercial basis.

Our aims are to provide a ‘home from home’ atmosphere combined with the security and individuality of a creative early years setting. The staff guide and nurture the children’s experiential learning, and supports every stage of their development by the Governments guidelines in the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme.

The Nursery is registered with Ofsted and received a ‘Good’ judgement from the Early Years Inspection in January 2010.

We are line-managed by the Students' Union, via Richard Eastall - Director of Membership Involvement.
