Students vote for Foundry, Studio, Fusion

The online poll to decide the Students' Union new venues names has concluded and we can reveal the result.

The poll took place over 15 days and amassed a total of 2,288 student votes. There were 2,160 votes in favour of Foundry, Studio, Fusion with the alternative choice of Soundroom, Studio, Den receiving just over 5% of the overall vote.

Tom Dixon Activities Officer said "The Poll gave all University of Sheffield students' the power to decide the new venue names. With such a large number of votes in favour of Foundry, Studio, Fusion it's clear that the venue names will have have students' views at their heart."

With the names decided, there is now just over four months until the venues open in Sept 2013! Full details of the nights out events will be revealed over the summer. Students will be able to book the venues for society activities (e.g. dance rehearsals, activities, meetings) through Students' Union room bookings from 3rd June (0114 222 8554 / unionroombookings@sheffield.ac.uk) or drop into the room bookings office, round the corner from Proper Pasty in the SU.

If you want to organise an event that's open to other students or the public (e.g. a dance show, party, club night, awards night, etc) then please contact the Events Department at any time (0114 222 8579), or come to the Entertainments and Events office, above the Interval Bar in the SU.
