Loan Payments from the Student Loans Company

If you are an Undergraduate student awaiting a maintenance loan payment from the Student Loans Company (SLC), the SLC has provided the following message:

'If you have registered and your university has confirmed this, your payment will be paid within the next few days. Payment dates vary depending on the university or college you attend. You can check your payment release date by logging into your online account and should allow a few working days (up to 5 working days) for the funds to reach your bank account.'

Students with Full Registration (FR) or Temporary Registration (TEMP) and for whom the University is holding a Student Support Number, have been confirmed as 'in attendance' to the SLC. You can check your registration status with the University by logging in to Muse, myRecord. Your Student Support Number, if held, will be visible within Personal Details. You can check your SLC online account for details of your payment release date.

If you have not received your loan payment within a few working days of your payment release date, please inform Registry Services by emailing student.registration@sheffield.ac.uk with SLC Payment in the subject title of the email, or by ringing our helpline on 0114 2221288. If you are struggling financially, the University may be able to give you a Short Term Loan. See www.shef.ac.uk/ssid/finance/shortterm

If you are staying in University Accommodation, due to make your first payment on 1 October and are concerned you may not have your maintenance loan in time, don't worry. Please contact residencefees@sheffield.ac.uk for advice.
