Sheffield Students' Union Wins NUS International Services Award

Sheffield Students' Union has been recognised at a national awards event for its work with international students.

As part of the Internationalising Students' Unions initiative by the National Union of Students, NUS organised an Awards scheme with the emphasis on internationalisation and provision for international students.

Sheffield Students' Union won the award for best services for international students. We highlighted the wide range of services provided by the Students' Union for international and home students, in particular the Student Advice Centre, whose contribution was given special recognition by the judges; the Activities Department with its great work with inclusion officers, societies, the Give It A Go programme and the communities project; and International Events organised by the International Students' Committee.

All of these contribute to integration and to making international students' experiences in Sheffield even better. In a recent survey, 98% of international students said that they  were satisfied with Sheffield Students' Union - the highest percentage in the UK.
