Sal-sa-tional: The Salsa Society

Salsa

The Salsa Society have been shaking their hips and shimmering around the dance floor to raise money for charity. The society raised a massive £530 for the charity Project Buzz, a scheme that provides play, social and educational activities to local families and under privileged children from Springfield School.

The salsa class admission fee all went to the charity and the Society also ran an extra class for the children and families involved with Project Buzz. The lesson was lots of fun and the children really enjoyed the swing vibes - for most of the children it was the first time they had ever salsa danced.

There was also a cake sale and a raffle with the winning ticket holder walking away with a signed Sheffield United football and match tickets!

Lastly, the society came up with another fab idea to make more money for Project Buzz. The group sold "Salsa Tour Guides!" The idea behind the Salsa Tour Guide was that they take you to a Salsa night, help you with your dance moves, introduce you to other dancers and generally introduce you to the Latino world of salsa. Students' Union President Josh Forstenzer was there and did his bit for charity and was sold as a Tour Guide.

Thank you to everybody that took part and for your very generous contributions.
