Digital Posterboards

Get your poster onto the SU's eight portrait digital posterboards
Target: General students in the building
How:

Each area of the Students' Union has an allocated space on the Digital Poster boards.

To book a slide onto the screens staff need to access the Google Doc named: 'Digital Posterboard Schedule' (if you don't have access please email kirsty.bowen@shef.ac.uk

Add the name of your file into your column on the days you would like it displayed.

Place the image file into: P:\MARKET\Public\Digital Poster Boards (Portrait)\Slides 2012

If you don't have an image designed you can order one through the Design & Print Order Form.

We update slides for the following week every Friday.

Please note, any students requiring plasma space for their club or society can request space on the screens by emailing: su-screens@shef.ac.uk.

Digital Poster Board size and formats: Accepted Image Formats: JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF
You can use portrait poster artwork or get an image designed to fit: 
768 pixels wide by 1360 pixels high

Muse Announce

Send out a non-commercial MUSE plain text email to students / get a listing on MUSE - the University's student portal
Target: All students, All Staff, or target by UG year, PGT, PGR, or dept
How: Login to my announcements composer
When: Can take up to three days for University staff to approve
Notes: Click on the question mark symbols for more info on completing each field. Click 'Preview' at bottom of page to see your message before it is sent.

Targeted Email

Send out a targeted email to students / staff
Target: Decide on your audience and objective and we will let you know what's possible
How: Speak with Tommy Wilson t.s.wilson@shef.ac.uk
When: As soon as you know you want to send and the report can be run. 

Text Message

Send a text message to student sections
Target: Groups of students interested in specific areas (speak to Tommy Wilson for current areas covered). 
How: Request through Digital Marketing Order Form: select SMS
When: Friday 12noon 3 days before the week of your campaign/event
Notes: Charged at 2.7p per recipient. 127 character limit as unsubscribe message must also be included. Some targeted groups available.

Send your message out as part of the weekly Students' Union e-newsletter - sent every Thursday
Target: Groups of students interested in specific areas (see below): Approx 13,500 subscribers in total

Notes: Arrange distribution before you print to ensure you get the correct quantity and don't waste money or material.

How: Order through Design and Print Order Form: select Leaflets/Flyers
When: 2 week turnaround
Notes: Arrange distribution before you print to ensure you get the correct quantity and don't waste money or material. Hand to hand flyering is recommended as opposed to leaving flyers to be picked up.

Photos / videos to help promote or document activity
How: Speak with Tommy Wilson (x28639)

As soon as you know you need them. With video, this is even more key due to equipment checks, permissions and time constraints for planning, shooting, editing and publishing of video content. As our in-house videographer Tommy Wilson may need to bring in external staff to shoot video if he is unavailable himself.

Photos - All of our current, approved photos can be found online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sheffieldsu/collections. Navigate through the headings to find the relevant content. When you have found a photo you wish to use, please contact Tommy Wilson (x28639) in order to use it. Tommy will be able to give you the original (uncompressed) high resolution image, and/or advise whether the proposed usage of the image is appropriate. For Flickr assistance, contact Tommy.
