Sheffield Students' Union prides itself on offering the broadest and best entertainment to its students. Our diverse line-up comprises of drama, films, performances, live music, talks, comedy, DJs and dance, so whatever your tastes there should be something that appeals.
Our arts and culture programme 'FLASH!' brings inspiring talks, live performances and comedy to the Students' Union stage. Created to inspire, provoke and entertain, this year's programme is already taking shape with confirmed appearances from Jeremy Paxman, Rob Brydon, Ian McMillan, Jon Ronson, Sir Roy Strong, & Sir Ian Kershaw.
If live music is more your scene you can watch up and coming, and established artists in one of our four live venues. Performing here this year will be Nero, Loick Essien, Jamie XX, Patrick Wolf, The Subways, Breakage, Wheatus, Yasmin, plus more to be confirmed.
To see the best from the local music scene visit our 'Fox & Duck' pub in Broomhill, which showcases local live bands weekly. For comedy, look no further than Sunday's 'Last Laugh Comedy Club' where you will find the freshest standup on the circuit. For theatre, the 'Drama Studio' presents a seasonal programme of plays. For films, you can watch current blockbusters and cult classics in our newly refurbished cinema; screening films every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Our two bars provide the perfect backdrop to suit your mood; whether that be the outgoing, vibrant, stylish new surroundings of Bar One, or the mature, relaxed environment of the Interval Café Bar. The latter is very popular with postgraduates. It serves, fresh wraps, sandwiches, stonebaked pizzas and pastas, and even screens free films every Sunday afternoon.
And of course, we've six regular club nights ranging from the award winning beats of the Tuesday Club, Monday night's Population party, the good time vibes of ROAR, to the retro pop of Pop Tarts, dancefloor anthems of Space and Yorkshire's no.1 LGBT night, Climax.Intro Week is where the entertainment begins, but it continues throughout the year.
You'll be able to take advantage of our special programme of activity designed to introduce you to your study, your campus and the varied opportunities surrounding it. Alongside the activities open to all students, we've also put together postgraduate only events, a chance for you to get to know fellow postgraduates and the city of Sheffield.
