Students' Union Innovation Fund - Archive

The first goal of the current Students' Union's strategic plan states 'we will build a culture which encourages new ideas and captures the energy of our students and staff to create an innovative and responsive Students Union'.

Last year a £10,000 Innovation Fund was set up by the Students' Union to help achieve an element of this goal.

Students and staff could apply to the fund with any ideas / thoughts they had that they believed would be for the benefit of Sheffield University students.

Last year the Innovation fund has awarded money to:

• International Languages Festival – Brand new event! Offering taster sessions of languages from all over the world in one weekend!
• Small Ideas music festival - to bring together alternative music, art and poetry into the Activities and Sports Zone, spreading out the reach to all students!
• SuTCo going to Edinburgh - a physical theatre adaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, playing on the themes of factionalism, family breakdown, and the triumph of instinct over reason.
