The Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) Information for Volunteers can now be found in the dedicated HEAR section of the website.

The Volunteering Awards is our night to celebrate the achievements and dedication of our Sheffield Volunteers by rounding off the year in style.
Nominations open in April 2014 for students to be in on the chance of winning one of our unique and infamous Volunteering Awards. Why not take a look at the Award Winners 2013 as next year, this might be YOU!
There are so many opportunities to help you make the most of your time at Sheffield - and now you can get official University recognition for your wider involvement! If you start your undergraduate degree from 2012/2013 onwards, you will receive a new and more comprehensive record of your university achievements when you graduate: the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
HEAR recognition is available for students who make a sustained commitment to volunteering with a specific project, either run by our students or with a local charity or organisation. The following roles are eligible for recognition:
Each role which is eligible for HEAR recognition has a set of criteria which you need to complete. Every volunteering role requires you write a reflective report or portfolio at the end of your volunteering placement. You can find guides for each of the volunteering roles and information about how to write and submit your reflective report in the HEAR section of the Students' Union website.
The Sheffield Graduate Award recognises valuable skills and experience gained at university outside your degree course. By registering for the Award, you will be encouraged to take part in many activities, with your achievements recognised through participation in the Award programme. One of the 6 areas of activity recognised by the Award is Volunteering. You can find more information on the Award requirements and how to apply on the Sheffield Graduate Award Website.
Students applying for the Sheffield Graduate Award need to submit a portfolio in their final year detailing their extra-curricular activities. We can provide certificates and details of your volunteering hours as evidence for you portfolio. Please come into our office in the Activities and Sports Zone of the Students' Union to discuss your needs with us.
