Become a Volunteering Ambassador

If you have a passion for volunteering and want to play a key role in supporting the Volunteering Committee then why not apply to become part of our team of 50 Sheffield Volunteering Ambassadors?

The Volunteering Ambassadors programme is recognised by HEAR so it is also a great way to try new opportunities and get rewarded for them. You will have the opportunity to try the following roles:

Being a 'Give It A Go' Buddy involves taking part in the Sheffield Volunteering GIAG days and being the contact point for the other volunteers throughout the day. Your duties may include; liaising with Sheffield Volunteering staff before the day, welcoming participants, taking a register, dealing with petty cash and encouraging everyone throughout the event.

The Front of House role involves helping the Volunteering Committee in their campaigns, promotion of events (and more), across the University campus. You may also assist in stewarding at big events such as the Volunteering Awards and 24 Hour Volunteering.

In this role, you will be the friendly and enthusiastic 'face' of Sheffield Volunteering, providing information and assisting others. It's also an opportunity for you to share your own personal volunteering experiences to inspire others and encourage them to get involved in our community.

As an Assistant Planner you help the Events, Campaigns or Connections teams of the Volunteering Committee to organise events throughout the year. You will attend regular meetings, assisting in making ideas become a reality, and will help to oversee an event that will further the objectives and / or promote the achievements of Sheffield Volunteering.

This role provides an opportunity to be part of an Ambassador Events Team, giving you the responsibility to formulate an idea for a volunteering event, work together with others to bring your event to fruition. You will attend regular meetings whilst also developing various skills in logistics, promotion and events planning.

Think this is for you?

In order to get the most out of your experience we ask you to complete 15 hours of Ambassador volunteering and attend a compulsory training session. To get involved or for more information, please contact Ellie, Ambassador Co-ordinator at volunteeringambassadors@sheffield.ac.uk.
