Become a Sheffield Volunteering Ambassador

Become a Sheffield Volunteering Ambassador in 2013/2014

If you have a passion for volunteering and want to play a key role in supporting the Volunteering Committee then why not apply to become part of our team of 50 Sheffield Volunteering Ambassadors?

We have a range of roles for you to try including; GIAG Buddy, this involves taking part in the Sheffield Volunteering GIAG days, you spend the day volunteering and are the contact point for all other volunteers throughout the day, your duties might include taking a register, dealing with petty cash and liaising with Sheffield Volunteering staff before the day. You could also be Front of House which requires stewarding at big events and sharing your own volunteering experience with others. We have the role of Assistant Planner available, in this capacity you help the Committee Events, Campaigns and Connections teams to plan and organise events throughout the year. Finally, there is an opportunity for Ambassadors to be part of the Ambassador Events Team, which affords you the opportunity of formulating an idea for an event and bringing it to actuality. Through this role you learn particular skills in logistics, promotion and events planning.

The best bit is that you are not restricted to any one of these roles; you can try them all throughout the year!! You can give as little or as much of your time as you feel comfortable with, we simply ask that you attend an introductory training session and complete 15 hours of Ambassador volunteering in one academic year. No previous experience is required; just ensure that you come to the team equipped with enthusiasm and a friendly face.

To speak to current ambassadors and find out more come to the Activities Zone on Wednesday 10 April 12noon - 3pm.
