One off taster volunteering is a great way to try new things, explore our city, challenge yourself, make new friends and have loads of fun, all in a short amount of time! Why not reinvent your spare time and try be involved!
Then get involved with one of our Give It A Go volunteering events! Give It A Go is a series of taster sessions so you can try your hand at something new, with only one-off commitment required. We also organise food and travel for everyone to make it super easy.

Get out of Sheffield for a day and explore new horizons! This scheme brings together volunteers with great 'causes' in our region. Join a team to complete a task together and then be treated to an activity or local attraction visit. Food and travel are all organised for you.
No further commitment required and no experience necessary - just sign up, turn up on the day and get stuck in!

24 Hour Volunteering is your chance to try something new, meet new people, discover a new Sheffield and join us to celebrate volunteering. November 2013 will be our second year running the event and it is set to be bigger and better so make sure you don't miss out. Click here to see our previous success.

Where: Students' Union and Sheffield City
Join the team to compete in a football tournament for Refugees and Asylum seekers and Students. An afternoon of sunshine, football and fun! Volunteers can help with the organisation of the day or just turn up and play. No skill or experience needed.
When: March - April time (date TBC)
Where: Sports Sheffield, Goodwin Sports Centre
The best thing was participating with the refugees and gaining a greater understanding of different cultures. - Student Volunteer, Football for Friendship
Rugby, Volleyball, American Football and much more. Sports Day brings together children from 4 local primary schools to try out new sports. Volunteers can to help with the project organisation and / or just come along on the day to accompany the children between activities. No experience necessary but volunteers must be willing to join in the fun!
When: Wednesday 7th May
Where: Sports Sheffield, Goodwin Sports Centre
Two nets, one ball, no sight! Come and have a go at this paralympic sport with visually impaired members of our community. Volunteers can either help with the organisation or just come along and join in on the day. No experience or skill necessary, just a thirst for a challenge!
When: 5pm - 8pm, March time (date TBC)
