How to be involved

Sheffield Volunteering is jam packed with a variety of exciting projects that we are developing all the time. With over 200 opportunities, there is something for everyone. Whether you want to 'give something back' or to 'gain sparkling CV skills', we at Sheffield Volunteering can help you.

It's really easy to get started and don't worry, our projects don't require any previous experience as we are here to help you all the way! So join in with over 1600 students and follow our 3 easy steps to be involved!

The 3 Easy Steps

Before you can start volunteering

You must sign up to the SV Hub. You only have to sign up once to get access to all the benefits:

  • Search over 200 exciting volunteering opportunities.
  • 'SV What's On' to hear about new opportunities before anyone else.
  • Create your wish list of activities that you want to get involved in.

Click on the button to be taken through to our SV Hub page. This opens a new tab so remember to come back!

Found your opportunity? Signed up to the SV Hub? Just one more step to confirm your place!

Each project on the SV Hub has a 'who to contact' section. To book your place, you must contact the project directly.

If your project is with:

A local organisation

  • contact them directly to find out more and let them know you want to be involved
  • they will arrange their own training and criminal record checks if required

Sheffield Volunteering

  • come in to see us in the Volunteering Office to book your place
  • we will arrange training and criminal record checks if required

Please note: clicking the 'Register Interest' button on the SV Hub doesn't confirm your place. You still need to contact the project directly.

Keep up to date

SV What's On tells you what you can get involved in right right now!
