Rooms and stalls are available for students to book during term-time. All rooms and equipment are free of charge to Students' Union-recognised societies and clubs except the Auditorium, where a hire charge applies.

To make your booking visit the room bookings office with a current room booking card, available from the Activities & Sports Zone on level 3.

The only rooms that are available for all students are the Music Room (free) and Auditorium (£25 charge).

You have to be members of a society/committee to book any of the meeting rooms.

Meeting rooms

Gallery Rooms 1-4 + The Eye

All 6 of these rooms are available for students to book for FREE 9am – 11pm Mon – Sat / 12pm – 11pm Sun (semesters only). The rooms range in size and can accommodate 2 – 20 people. All rooms except the Gallery Room 1 have a projector and access points. All rooms have WiFi access. Gallery Presentation Area (the space by the computers)

If you require a large space then it is possible to reserve this space after 5pm Mon – Friday and all day at weekends for FREE. The space has a projector and a screen. Contact Students’ Union Room Bookings on 0114 222 8554 or email unionroombookings@sheffield.ac.uk

Octagon Meeting Rooms

The Octagon meeting rooms are booked through the Students’ Union Room Bookings on 0114 2228554 or unionbookings@sheffield.ac.uk during term time only.

Octagon Convocation Hall

If you have an event that requires a very large space then Octagon Convocation Hall is available to the Students’ Union on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you are interested in using this space please contact Chris White at C.White@sheffield.ac.uk. Please note this carries a charge of £150 – if you are a society, please see Zoe Speakman (Society Development Co-ordinator.)

Event rooms

The Activities & Sport Zone

If you would like to reserve spaces within The Zone or the whole Zone please visit the Activities Information Point in The Zone between 10am – 6pm or email: activities@shef.ac.uk for bookings before 5pm Monday - Friday. Coffee Revolution

Coffee Revolution is a coffee shop during the hours of 7am – 7pm. If you would like to use the space after it has closed you are more than welcome. If you would like to hire out the whole area and / or would like a coffee provision service as part of your activity contact coffeerevbookings@shef.ac.uk

The Raynor Lounge

The Raynor Lounge is the Students’ Union’s bookable party space. If you wanted a space for a party or an event you were going to charge entry into e.g. a club night, then you can hire the Raynor Lounge in the evenings for £60.00 for a 4hour slot. This includes the cost of equipment hire, bar, bar staff and security. NB if you want to put on a live band the cost is increased to £120 to cover technical support). This space is available every day before 8pm for free student society use. And occasionally after 8pm for any last minute requests. The Fusion

Is primarily a café bar during the day and a club night venue in the evening. However there is a window of opportunity between these operations for students to be able to use this space for their own means. It is available 4pm – 8pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs), 4pm – 6pm (Tue, Fri) 10am – 7pm (Sat) and 12pm – 10pm (Sun) If you are interested in booking this space for free then contact Students’ Union Room Bookings on 0114 222 8554 or email unionroombookings@shef.ac.uk

The Foundry

The Foundry is primarily a club night venue, but here are slots available for student use: 10am – 6pm (Mon, Fri, Sat), 10am – 4pm (Tues, Thurs) and 12 noon – 10pm on Sunday. Interval Cafè Bar

The Interval is open for business as a café bar most of the time. However if 20 of your friends were meeting up for a birthday party, you could reserve a space in the Interval ensuring you all had somewhere to sit whilst eating and drinking. Student stalls

Stalls in the Plaza (by the Welcome Desk)

There are 4 stalls available every day. Students can use them to promote their activities and campaigns. If you would like to book a stall contact on 0114 222 8554 or email unionroombookings@sheffield.ac.uk.

Stalls on the Concourse

If you would like to book a stall on the concourse then you need to contact Room & Parking Services at the University roompark@sheffield.ac.uk. Tables can be booked through unionroombookings@sheffield.ac.uk if required.

Other spaces

Media HUB

The Media Hub and its specialist equipment are available for all students to use. Its open access so no booking is required, please be aware there is limited availability.

Music Room

If you would like to book the music room then either contact the Students’ Union Welcome Desk or Students’ Union Room Bookings.

Gallery Terrace (the space outside Gallery Room 1)

This area is not bookable but is available for students use while ever the building is open.

Garden View Terrace (the area outside Santander)

You do not need to book this space; it is available for use while ever the building is open.

International Food Court
