ZambiAIDS

Details

ZambiAIDS is a society that was new to Sheffield in the 2008-2009 academic year. It's a university-based group that fundraises for a HIV/AIDS charity called PEPAIDS. PEPAIDS support a Zambian HIV project, which is run by Zambians who understand the needs of their communities. They equip the people with the life skills (as well as education) to cope with cultural and economic pressures that put them at risk of HIV. It is having a significant impact. ZambiAIDS organises a range of fundraising events throughout the year, providing the opportunity for members to visit the project and participate in PEPAIDS' sponsored challenges and other PEPAIDS fundraising activities.

ZambiAIDS is also supporting the Stop AIDS Push For The Pool Campaign, which aims to make medicine to treat HIV?AIDS more affordable in developing countries. To find out more and sign the petition go to http://www.stopaidscampaign.org.uk/
