Student Eats

Details

Student Eats is a project led by the NUS, supporting institutions across the UK in cultivating their own student-led growing sites for fruit and vegetables.

We have set up an allotment in Endcliffe as a great opportunity to grow, eat and share food which is organic, nutritious, fresh, local, low-carbon and – most importantly of all – delicious!

Championed by a team of dedicated students, Student Eats seeks to grow produce which is shared among the volunteers, as well as sold at low cost to other students and often even to on-campus catering services.

We've been involved in charity events, EEK Week, cooking workshops, wildflower giveaways, nature walks and a foraging walk!

Further to this, we also take pride in growing ethnic and exotic crops which might not often be seen on UK allotments – responding to as broad of a demographic of students as possible.

We meet every week, join our Facebook group to find out details of our upcoming meetings and our events too! Many of us had never planted a thing in our lives before joining, so complete beginners are actively encouraged! And of course, those of you with more experience will be very welcome too. Get in contact if you have any questions, we're more than happy to help.
