St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance is the UK's leading first aid charity. We believe that everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them and that no one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.

Our 44,000 volunteers are committed to training, caring and saving lives, helping around 130,000 casualties annually. We're also one of the country's largest youth organisations with more than half of our members aged under 25.

Our volunteers provide first aid at high profile national as well as local events and provide support to the statutory services, especially in times of emergency. In addition to this we have a number of community support programmes which give vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in society such as the homeless and the elderly. We have a range of volunteering opportunities – from our Neighbourhood First Responder scheme to our bathing service – all of which make an immediate and real difference in the community.

LINKS

LINKS is the student section of St John Ambulance. LINKS operates both as a university society and as a unit of St John Ambulance we can offer a wide range of opportunities for students from all higher education institutes.

The majority of LINKS members have never been in St John Ambulance before and are attracted to the chance to learn important and potentially lifesaving skills. We offer basic first aid advice to all our members and the opportunity for more formal training and qualifications.

If you choose to join St John Ambulance you will also have the opportunity to practice your first aid skills at public events including festivals, sports events, marathons, grand prixs and community events.

As a friendly society we welcome members no matter what their previous first aid knowledge or skills.

All members of LINKS enjoy the social aspect of the society with regular events organised both locally and nationally.

If you would like to know more, visit us at the activities fair or drop us an email.
