Overall goals: PSYCH provides a multi dimensional look at psychiatry and mental illness to increase the awareness and appreciation of psychiatry.

 

Our views on psychiatry: We view psychiatry as an art and a science that touches upon many areas including; sociology, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, medicine and biology. We feel that it is important to look at this discipline from many angles so that we can develop our views, further our interest, challenge prejudices and thereby gain more insight into what psychiatry and mental illness really is.

 

Who is it for: PSYCH is open to students with any level of knowledge, who share a passion, interest, or curiosity in psychiatry and mental illness. It is for anyone who would like to explore psychiatry and have fun at the same time. Our multi disciplinary approach is ideal for anyone who would like to see how different specialities view this subject. Cultural, religious, supernatural, historical, philosophical, geographical, medical, biological and many other views will be explored.

 

What can you expect: We provide a fun, friendly, exciting environment with great socials. We offer discussions, lectures and field trips along a thought provoking line. Topics will be far from what you would be taught in lectures, such as personality disorders, psychiatry and crime, approaches of different cultures to mental illness, psychiatry and the supernatural, the meaning of psychiatry, art and mental illness, what is normal and many more
