We have been awarded the prize for the best special interest society for both of the 2 years of our existence. For the Uni year 2012-2013 we plan to hold:
Stimulating Science Talks- We regularly hold informal discussions, led by enthusiastic and engaging guest speakers. Usually held at the University Arms, this is a chance to exchange views on controversial topics or learn more about a subject in more detail from experts and enthusiasts, all over a drink!
Local Walks- We can give you the opportunity to explore the nature at your doorstep. Sheffield University is situated right next to the Peak District National Park so we hope to take regular trips up there to look at the wildlife. Even Endcliffe Park hosts some interesting flora and fauna well worth a look.
Trips- We hope this year to take trips further afield. The trip in the first semester will be to the Natural History Museum in London, and we plan to organise a second trip in the second semester. Society members will receive tickets at a discounted price.
