The Mechanical Engineering Society organises industrial, social and sports events throughout the year for our members.

We aim to give engineering students (not just mechanical but from other disciplines as well) exposure to the applications of the courses they are taking, out in the real world, through visits to local companies such as Forgemasters and Gripple as well as to industry giants like Rolls-Royce & BAE Systems.

Along with this we provide opportunities for our members to socialise with fellow engineers (as well as anyone else who wants to join in!) by organising bar crawls, brewery visits and larger events such as go-karting or paintballing!

If that wasn't enough we also have two intra-mural football teams and weekly open football sessions for anyone to come along and play in as well as badminton and squash leagues for any of our members to join; in short - we keep ourselves very busy making our members happy!
