¡Bienvenido a La Sociedad Hispánica!

La Sociedad Hispánica exists with the aim of promoting all things Hispanic and generally having a good time. 
We're run by students from the Department of Hispanic Studies for students & staff of the department, native speakers, and anyone with an interest in Hispanic languages and cultures.

There's plenty to get involved with this year:

• Fortnightly trips to our sede - Revolución de Cuba! 
  Come down and join us for a chat and a cocktail or caña.
• Sensational socials including the annual Movember Moustache Madness!
• SLC socials and events - formerly SOMLAL ('til I die!)
• The Spanish Play (Feb 2013 at the Drama Studio)
• Ayúdame - a chance to help local school children improve their Spanish skills
• Sports teams: Football & netball
• Society sporting cup
• Culés de Sheffield - Run by our Vice-President, Alex, Culés de Sheffield is community for people who support Barça in Sheffield
• UK Trips: to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see the Joan Miró exhibit and to London for Language Show Live (click the link to find out more about this trip)
• Society trip to España!
• Fundraising events for our charity of the year: Colombia Sin Fronteras...and much more!

La Sociedad Hispánica presents its Catalan-speaking wing...
SócCatalà: The social hub for the Catalan-speaking community of Sheffield.
Join us for some special Catalan inspired socials and cultural events!

We have a Facebook group especially for first years: You can find people on your course, make new friends and ask any questions you might have here.

Membership is just £5 for the year: Find us at the Activities Fair to get yours!
Membership will also be available at our fortnightly society sede socials.
