Sheffield Debating is an inclusive society for people of all abilities. Whether you've debated in school or have never debated before we welcome everyone. We host a public panel debate every Monday in Coffee Revolution (Students Union) where you can relax and enjoy it with a drink, or voice your opinion and have your say (with a chance to win a bottle of wine for the best speech!).We then wind down in Interval Bar and give you vouchers for discounted drinks.  Coffee Revolution 7:00pm, every Monday during term. FREE!

We also offer training workshops with no audience. Here we will teach students how debating works and how to improve your rhetorical skills. Again whether you're an experienced debater or have never debated before, we cater for all levels. This is a great chance to improve your confidence in speaking in public and articulating your arguments. If you feel confident enough you can participate in inter-varsity competitions (again for all levels). After training we wind down in Interval Bar.  Free - every Tuesday, 8-10pm, The Gallery (Student Union) (meet at 7:50 at the Union Foyer, if you don't know the way).

We also host many Debating Socials giving you chance to get to know existing debaters, make friends with new, and have fun.

Whatever your ability, being part of the Debating Society will:

• Improve your rhetorical skills and ability to articulate arguments.
• Give you confidence speaking in public
• Look fantastic on your CV
• Meet new people and have fun.

You don't need to do anything to join Sheffield Debating, just turn up to one of our events and chat to us if you have any questions.
