About us: We play chess each week in a friendly, cozy atmosphere. Anyone can join us, there's no minimum chess level required.

You are welcomed if you've never played before and want to explore the beautiful world of chess!

Those who want to test themselves against tougher opponents can play in one of our 2 Sheffield District League teams, which are waiting for your contribution! 

Club Nights: We meet every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in the Students' Union building, in one of the Gallery Rooms on the first floor. More information about the society, the teams and our activities can be found on our website: http://www.chess.union.shef.ac.uk/ or our Facebook Group

Cost: You can join us and play for free, but if you want to be a regular you'll have to pay the minimum 3£/year.
