The Bioengineering Society is a society that's here to help out all of you studying bioengineering and related subjects. It's with us that you can meet and get to know other people on your course who are (we hope) just as awesome as you.
There's loads of different things that you can get involved with- so you can join in with whatever you want to. And if you've got an idea for something that we don't do (yet), give us a shout! Here's a couple of the things we do, just to give you an idea:-
Lotsa lovely socials! As well as our own events, we always head out to such legendary events as Geek Chic and the Engineers' Ball, so you'll always have people to go with!
There's plenty of non-alcoholic socials to get involved with too; we've done paintballing and Quasaring, and the annual Christmas meal gets more impressive every year.
We may be a small society, but we still have our own football team! Regular training (a.k.a. a bit of a kick-around) and matches against other departments are a regular thing.
If you've got any problems with anything at all, course related or otherwise, you can ask any of the committee (we're lovely, we promise).
If you want to join (and let's face it, why wouldn't you?), the best thing to do is to swing by our facebook group (any of the links around here, or search "Sheffield University Bioengineering Society"); alternatively, email us with the button below or have a chat with a committee member. They are:-
Simon Marchant - President
Maria Brancato - Secretary & Treasurer
Hera Shams-Khan - Social Sec (3rd year)
Erika Oraviano - Social Sec (2nd year)
Shruti Vasudev - Inclusions Officer
Marzeh Tehrani - Webmaster (webmistress)
If you'd like to join Bioengineering Society, then please contact the society via email to find out how to get involved.
