Secular and Atheist Society

Details

Atheism is "a lack of belief in God or Gods", and Secularism which is defined as being "not bound or subject to religious rule and freedom from religion or spirituality". We attempt make sense of the world through evidenced reasoning and rational thought, as well as campaigning against religious privilege and for equality.

We aim to:

  • Provide an environment for lively discussions about religion and ethical issues.
  • Give talks and screenings on topics of an atheist, humanist, sceptic and secular interest.
  • Promote atheist thinking in the university and beyond.
  • Debunk pseudoscience and other such practices that have no scientific evidence.
  • Have fun at the same time!

Anyone and everyone is welcome, just come along to a meeting or event.
We meet on Wednesday evenings 7pm in the Students Union.
