Sheffield University Architect’s Society exists to encourage a thriving social and educational scene within the School of Architecture by bringing together undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff who are studying, teaching or interested in architecture and it’s related fields. SUAS aims to encourage a lively culture of architectural debate and learning through a weekly evening lecture series of well-known speakers, diverse and unusual film screenings, a weekly ‘Lunchtime Specials’ series of talks given by students for students, and the annual ‘Whole School Event’, where the school comes together to engage in design and making with an exciting theme on a single day. A diverse social scene is encouraged by regular themed socials and the annual Bakewell Pub Crawl and Architecture Ball, which are held in university-wide acclaim.
