Residents' Engagement Teams 2013/14

The Residents' Engagement Teams are students who get together to organise their own events and activities for students living in University accommodation.

There are 5 different Teams in total. They are really flexible; there are no set 'positions', there is no maximum or minimum number of students and there is no election process. There is also no experience required; we have three members of staff who support and guide the Teams, helping them turn their ideas into reality. Each Team member will also be entitled to a comprehensive training programme, covering things like team working, budgeting and event planning.

Joining the Residents' Events Team meant that I was able to be a part of some great events which make up some of my best memories of being in halls - Joe, Endcliffe

By being part of the Residents' Activities Team, I really gained loads and loads. I learnt to communicate with people in a better way despite my language barrier. I learnt to approach new people despite feeling shy and scared - Lee, Endcliffe

Any student living in University accommodation can get involved with one (or more!) of the Teams, just chose the ones that interest you:

• Residents' Activities Team
• Residents' Charity Team
• Residents' Environmental Team
• Residents' Events Team
• Residents' Sports Team

Each Team usually meets for one hour per week to discuss, plan and organise their own events, activities and projects. However, you can spend as much or as little time as you like working on your own projects!
